I am going to age myself here a bit, But I really am proud of all the moments of creating amazing dishes. I love to explore an ingredient and how it can be used.
Being raised in the 70's, we ate what one would say garden to table and from barn to table.
My Dad believed that it was best to grow our own food. Today this is called Farm to Table! Which I love personally. I remember Dad making wine. He was the person who influenced food for me. Dad's father came from Ohio and his parents immigrated here from Southern Germany. When they got to the United States they landed near Pennsylvania. Thus they were called Pennsylvania Dutch. Not wanting to be known as Germans they wanted to blend. So not to be judged by where they came from.
They brought their traditions. My dad always put an egg into our mashed potatoes with butter, sour cream, & he would use a hand mixer! His love rhubarb has stayed with me all of my life. Dad would have been 89 this year.
March always is a month of remembrance of my Dad. He passed away at 50 years of age.
I will forever be thankful for the moments of the traditions he shared with us. From Wine making to Christmas cookies he turned me onto tradition of food. It does not matter where your food story starts it is how we use these moments to teach the next generation.
This month I will be celebrating with moments from Dad's farm roots. Check out our fun menus that will be celebrating Pennsylvania Dutch Along with our Farm to Table Charcuterie Thursday Night Event celebrating local breads, local cheese, local meats, local honey along with some new surprises coming. We will be celebrating Blue Cheese along with new Salads
Coming to the Market is really about experiencing food with friends. IT is an intimate or a group experience. Our goal is to allow our guest to set the tone. Book 2 chairs or book 16 for a dinner party. Or the entire 32 chairs. We create the food, you create the memory.
Cheers,
Mindy
